Mid-twenties have come to the Rainwater house. Today David turned 25! It has been a celebration weekend. Because we couldn't go out to dinner tonight, we went on Friday to a place called Cafe Trio off the Plaza. Very fun and very good.
On Saturday David needed to hit the books and I had a baby shower to attend with some church friends. On Saturday night we went to Mitch and Nicole's house for Dinners for Eight. We grilled burgers, talked, and played the wii. It was so fun...especially since we had Jason and Jessica's sweet little girl there, Reegan, to play with. She is precious.
Sunday was a nice day and the weather was beautiful. We went to church and just did the regular stuff which included studying, grocery shopping and cooking! I made a breakfast casserole to sit overnight for David's birthday and a chocolate cake with caramel icing. Yum!
This morning I got up at 5:00 a.m. (yes, very early) to get the breakfast casserole in so that we could have breakfast in bed. Turns out you can get a lot done in the mornings when you get up at 5:00...but I don't think I'll be making a habit out of it any time soon. Tonight for David's official birthday dinner, I made homemade lasagna! We also took some time for David to blow out all those candles...what an old man. :)
He got them all out on the first breath!
Mike and Kathy's present came in some nice boxes that Sooie promptly smashed to smithereens.
Here's a video from our Dinners for Eight group with David and Mitch trying to kill each other on a sword fight game.
