A Greenish Thumb

I warned you that my green thumb was going to come out this weekend...and the weather was so pretty that it did! I got to feeling a little bit sick on Saturday, but I rested in the morning and got out there in the afternoon, which made me feel better. I guess I have some allergies that I'm dealing with...yuck. I feel like I've been off and on sick all year...but I'm beating this one so far.
On Friday night Brett and Sarah came over to grill. We had a great time. We grilled burgers and hot dogs and sat outside until we ran out of light and then came inside for dessert and card games. Brett and Sarah live pretty near us, so we have plans to hang out even more.

Like I said, on Saturday I didn't feel super great, but I tried to lay low in the morning so that I could enjoy the afternoon. David and I spent the better part of the day planting the flowers that I bought, pulling weeds, and mowing the grass. I haven't been known thus far in my married life for being that great at actually keeping my potted plants alive. For some reason I get it in my head that once they're outside they should survive on their own like the other plants in the yard...however...I'm turning over a new leaf with these. I've already watered them everyday since planting.
Back porch pots filled with daisies, vinca vine, and persula (sp?).
We're in love with the tree over the back porch...so much color and good smells.
Front bed beside the garage. Right now it looks a little crowed, but the tulips are about to be done and I'll be turning down the rest of daffodils.
Last year I planted in this spot and it exploded...we're hoping for a repeat.

As always...giving Sooie and litte face time on the blog.

What a green thumb you have! Everything looks so fresh and green. Thank goodness it's spring.
Love you both!
