A lot has happened since my last post. Like I wrote before, we sold our house to people who wanted us out in two weeks and were working hard to get everything ready to do that. A week before moving (originally set for June 15), they backed out. Just left. We were so mad and then had to get our house ready to go back on the market!
The people who bought it found a bigger house and just rolled out, even after making all of their insane demands and wanting us out so quickly. It's hard to believe that there are people out there who behave like that...doing whatever they want and not caring how it affects anyone else. Ok, vent session over.
After a complete emotional breakdown on my part about the state of my house and trying to figure out HOW I was going to get it back in shape for showings, David and I got to work and got it done. They back out on a Saturday, and we had a showing on the following Monday when we were back on the market. They came back for a second showing on Tuesday (this is last week) and we had it sold again by Wednesday! This is a young couple, about to get married, who are buying it to live in...not eventually rent out. I am much more excited about this couple. So, we close July 17 now.
This past weekend, we went to Little Rock to work on the new house! We built a fence halfway, painted Abigail's trim and walls, and began work on the living room trim. We couldn't have done it without the help of our family and friends. Mom and Dad did SO much pre-work inside and got Abigail's room done from top to bottom in ONE DAY. Mike scoped out the fence and basically had us set to start bright and early Saturday morning. John and Ben and David's cousin Kirk worked tirelessly getting the holes dug for the posts and our friends Jay and Katherine even came over and joined in. Jay sweated it out in the backyard and Katherine hopped herself right up on a ladder and started painting trim! We were SO THANKFUL. Thank you everyone!
