AEGD

David's residency has started! It started this Monday and is going really well. Of course he's ready to start seeing patients again and be done with the orientation stuff. :) I of course made David take a "first day" picture...

But hey, you only get one first day as a resident doctor.

On Tuesday of this week we hit the half-way point with the pregnancy. Twenty weeks! I'm finally starting to look a little more "bumpish" and people are actually starting to assume I'm expecting, rather than just full after a big meal. Here's our 20 week picture. I'm feeling great these days and feeling lots of little kicks. Also this week, for the first time I actually saw my skin move when Abby kicked. Pretty fun.

Wednesday was the fourth of July and we celebrated by cleaning out parts of our house and grilling out at Matt and Dianna's house with Mark and Starrla. It was a really fun and relaxing night. I didn't take any pictures. :(

The rest of the week went on as normal until Friday night. My little brother got engaged to his girlfriend Kara on Friday. We knew it was coming and had been keeping it a secret for some time, but we are thrilled that it has happened! They are wonderful together and I we have prayed that the Lord would bring Tripp's "right woman" to him. Congratulations guys! We love you!

On Saturday we went down to first Friday's in the West Bottoms to do some antiquing. I picked up an old window for super cheap and have added yet another project to David's growing "to-do" list. It's going to be used for the nursery in some way (plans are still formulating in my mind), but for now he's painting the visible wood that you can see through the glass, as well as the edges, pink. Speaking of pink...what a joy it's been to think about having a girl this past week and a half.

Also on Saturday we headed to Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us to get registered for baby showers, which was fun. Unfortunately I let a stroller fall on my big toe, effectively creating some of the worst pain I have ever felt and requiring David to participate in a "blood letting" from under my nail. I'll just say this, I'm thankful for a husband that stays calm and has steady hands. It was TERRIBLE, and still feels bad, but at least the pressure is down now that David let the blood out from under the nail. I'm really hoping I don't lose the nail, but it's quite possible. I did a number on myself for sure. Here are some more developments on Abigail.

Her crib came in from Restoration Hardware and was completely assembled! Unfortunately it wouldn't fit through the doorway, so David had to take it apart and then rebuild it. I'm in love with it and think it's very classic.

Here is the window I found and also a mirror for the nursery that David is going to paint. :) Later I'll post a picture of the finished projects.

I also picked some girly bedding. I love it because it has so many colors I can include in the nursery. Right now I'm not sure which side I'm going to have facing out and in.

Today we had a great day at church and we've worked around the house today. David painted a spot he had to repair in the dining room because of a leak in our roof recently.

This week is going to be pretty standard for a summer week. I'm still working in the afternoons, which I am now hating because of being pregnant in this heat and I am also helping with Upward Cheer camp at LBC in the mornings. So far this summer, as compared with last summer, I have actually only worked half days for two of my summer weeks. All of the other weeks I've had to do something in the mornings. It's nice to be busy, but I WILL enjoy having some half days coming up. Of course, come August I've got a LOT of time off since I'm not going back to work, so it's good I'm staying busy now.

For good measure, here's a picture of our puppy-dog. :)
