While sitting outside, one of my favorite people from work and drove by with her family...Jenny Preston (one of the Kindergarten teachers). They said they loved to drive around the area and happened to see us sitting outside. Then they asked us if we wanted to go to dinner at Pizza 51 on Saturday (right by our house.)
After sitting outside for a while we met our friends Jay and Katherine for a delicious snow cone! We sat outside and talked and caught up on everything going on. Katherine and I are due 2 weeks apart and are both having girls!
It's really fun experiencing it for the first time together and we can't believe we've both been blessed with little girlies.
On Saturday morning we hopped up with a mission...get Abigail's room painted. Before we could do that, we had to make it possible by moving things out of the room. At that time in the room we had the crib, a chest of drawer set FILLED with our clothes, a full bed and a chair. Not exactly a room David could paint in. Our solution was to totally rearrange our own room to include the chest of drawers and chair. We haven't changed our room since the day we moved in and it was quite the undertaking. We had to take apart the bed and slowing move things around until everything fit. Sooie was always around...effectively putting herself in inconvenient spots.
We really like the final product and are getting used to it.
David was finally able to start painting around noon and I caught the first stroke of the paint brush! We chose a really sweet pink color and love doing all things sweet and girly.
David worked like a beaver all day and almost got the room totally done before we went and met the Preston's (my friend from work) at the pizza place down the street. Sorry the picture is blurry, I took it from facebook.

Today, David got the painting completely done! I'm so happy with the color and so is he. Abigail is already so lucky to have a Daddy like David. He's sold out and all in for anything that has to do with a little girl, including spending his entire weekend painting her room. I was a faithful observer, but didnt participate in the painting.
Here's the finished product with just the crib in the room! I realize their is no mattress in the crib, but I like the way it looks with the walls so I put it in. :) David did such a good job and we had a ton of fun moving the crib around the room and starting to think about where a good place to put it might be.
Looking back into the guest bedroom and seeing it be pink is pretty fun. It makes it so much more real (of course my growing belly makes it pretty real too). I couldn't be more thankful for David giving so much time and attention to Abigail's room with me. It means a lot and if Abigail ever reads this blog I want her to know how hard her Dad worked on her nursery.
This week I am only working half days for the first time this summer. I don't know what I'm going to do with my mornings! This is David's last week of "set up" before he gets to finally start seeting patients again. He is ready!

You and Katherine both look great! And I have that white shirt you have on in the picture of the two of you. Gotta love a little side rouching. ;-)
Rachel, the nursery color is so sweet- I love the shade of pink!! Sweet is really the best way to describe it, not too bright with just enough girly. And how fun is it that your and Katherine's due dates are so close? Love how the Lord works in the lives of friends :)
{I was watching the big Bachelorette finale last night and it reminded me of our fun girls' nights back in the day. Fun fun.}
