Sickness

Last week was kind-of a long week. On Thursday night I helped lead the first cheerleading practice of the year (I am just the assistant this year thankfull) and then on Thursday night, a sinus infection hit me like a ton of bricks. I was miserable Thursday night and could hardly sleep. David was great and did all he could to help me. Last winter I was sick constantly and a doctor suggested taking Clariton. It helped some, but I didn't feel like this winter was looking too promising considering I was already stopped up all the time. I couldn't call in a sub for Friday because it was grandparents day either! Yuck.

I made it through Friday and got a doctors appointment for Saturday morning. He diagnosed me with a sinus infection and an allergic reaction to something in our house. What was that something in our house you ask? MOLD. A small patch of mold in the basement! Ahhh!

We had never thought about mold before and the doctor explained that houses that are as old as our house typically have unfinished basements that leak a little. Check. He also said they stay pretty moist in the winter, which is the perfect conditions for mold to grow. Check. The mold is now taken care (thanks to David), and we have begun the HUGE job of re-sealing the basement. It should add some value to the house but is a big job. David took the initiative in getting us going on it.

I am SO thankful to know what I was reacting to and that the problem is now solved. Hopefully I won't be sick quite as much this winter!
