A Defeat Hard to Swallow

Our weekend has been unbelievably fun, but as you probably know, our Hogs lost to #1 ranked Alabama. I'm not sure if we ever truly believed that we could beat Alabama...really we just wanted to play them respectably. However, we were winning almost the entire game until the end! It almost made the loss harder than if we had been losing the whole time. We could see victory within our grasp! Can you imagine?...beating the number one team!? But, that didn't happen and the Hogs lost, 20 to 24.

On the up side, the game and tailgating were absolutely so fun. We took our good friends from sunday school, Jason and Jessica Heine to the game with us! We left at 7:30 Saturday morning and were tailgating by 11:30!

We had BBQ at the tailgate and lot's of friends came by! We didn't get a picture with everyone there, but it was quite a party. Honestly, the tailgate couldn't have been more fun and it made us thankful all over again for the wonderful friends and family that we have. We hung out until about 2:00 and then headed into the game.

Fayetteville was just electric with all the energy about the game. Rumors of famous people being in town were everywhere and there was even a rumor about Kobe Bryant playing a pick-up game at Bud Walton. To say the least, none of those rumors were ever really proven to be true. It sure was fun to think about though!

We did see the Goodyear Blimp flying around!

The game ball was delivered by three military parachuters called the silver wings. It was pretty cool and they navigated to the field perfectly.

Chris Allen was there and led everyone in calling the hogs.

Jerry Jones also made an appearance as a lifelong hog fan.

Feeling very dejected after a hard loss/almost win.

Even though we lost we really couldn't imagine having a more fun weekend with friends. Jason and Jessica, thanks so much for going with us. Everyone from Arkansas, it was absolutely wonderful to see you and have such quality hang out time. No loss can keep us from enjoying a fun tailgate!...or keep us from calling the hogs for the next game! Woooo......pig sooie! Razorbacks!

So maybe Kobe was nowhere to be found...but I still think it's plausible that Justin Bieber was up there in the Goodyear blimp...
