Half of Emma's first year of life is behind us and I cannot cannot believe it. It has passed so quickly. It seems like you kind of crawl through those first few months and now I am already wishing for time to slow down. Emma is the sweetest, kindest, most good-natured baby and we adore her.
Emma Grace this month:
1. Heigh:
Weight:
Head:
2. Diapers: size 3
3. Clothing: some bigger 6 month items, 9 months
4. Daily Schedule:
7:00 Wake up and eat!
8:00 Rice cereal
8:30-10:00ish Nap
10:30 Eat
1:30 Eat
1:45-3:30 Nap
4:45 Nurse
5:30-6:00 SOMETIMES a catnap
6:00 Baby food
7:15 Bottle
7:30 Bedtime!
5. Emma is consistently sitting up and I now feel comfortable leaving the room while she is sitting (while on a soft service like carpet).
6. I love watching the growing interaction between Abigail and Emma. Emma watches everything that Abigail does and has really started laughing at her and "playing." It makes me excited for their relationship in the future.
7. Two weeks before Emma turned 6 months, I started her on vegetables at night. The "rule" is 6 months, but I just really felt like she was ready, and she was. She LOVED it, and still does. So we do rice cereal or baby food in the mornings and then baby food in the evenings as well. In the not too distant future we will add in some baby food over the lunch hour as well.
8. Emma is literally the sweetest baby you will meet. She hands out smiles to everyone and generally keeps a good attitude. She has her moments, but it takes a lot to get her crabby. Namely, no sleep.
9. She will now grab our faces and pull us in for big open mouth kisses. Literally my favorite.
10. Rolls and rolls and more rolls. She is such a fast and efficient nurser I often wonder if she is getting enough milk, but suffice it to say, based on her weight, she's doing just fine. I continue to nurse her exclusively, as in she's never had formula. I've got plenty of milk frozen for after we stop, which will be around the 9 month mark, unless she stops before then on her own.
