Today was Abigail's four month appointment and I was excited to go, but not excited for her to get shots. Thankfully I had David with me this time, so I knew I would be better emotionally. Abigail did great, although she did scream her poor sweet little head off when she got her shots. She was literally smiling and laughing while laying on the table and then she felt the first shot and her face froze, the pain registered, and she started crying. I HATE it. HATE.IT. I realize it's just shots, I realize I need to be tougher, and I realize she is fine. But I hate shots, am not very tough, and hate it when she feels bad. :( Thank goodness David was there. However, I can't really complain when we got such a wonderful report from the doctor. She looks perfect.
Here are some shots from her little four month photo session with Mommy. I know, there's a ton, but couldn't you just eat those rolls up?!
This month...
--Weight: 13 pounds 8 ounces (50%)
--Height: 23 3/8 inches (15%)-sorry sugar, you clearly have your mother's height
--Head circumference: 16 inches (50%)
1. Abigail is a great sleeper. She takes a bottle of breast milk from Daddy at 8:00 p.m. every night and is asleep around 8:30. She typically wakes me up somewhere between 6:45 and 7:30 the next morning.
2. Our daily schedule looks SOMETHING like this:
7:00 Wake up, eat, play
8:00-10:00 Nap time!
10:00 Wake up, eat, play
11:30-1:00 Nap time!
1:00 Wake up, eat, play
2:00-3:30 Nap time!
3:30 Wake up, eat, play
5:00-6:00 Nap time!
6:00 Wake up, eat, play
8:00 Bed time bottle and goodnight!
3. Abigail loves to laugh and make noises. Her new sound is like an "Oooo, ahhh" sound.
4. Clothing: she is mostly wearing all her three month things, but has also gotten into some of her 3-6 month clothing and even a couple 6 month items. It's fun to start putting her in more and more new things.
5. Food: all breast milk...Mommy is working hard at it!
6. The doctor said that sometime this month we can start rice cereal and then as we inch toward six months we can start introducing baby food! I'm pretty excited about it.
7. Of course I'm with her every day, but this girl LOVES her daddy. Whenever he talks to her she just smiles and smiles and talks to him. Having David home for spring break this week has been so nice. He's such a help when he comes home from work every day, but having him here ALL day is like a dream!
8. Diapers: we've bumped up to size 2!
9. Abigail's new thing is "face snuggling." I love it and it's when she opens her mouth and just basically puts her mouth all over my face. For now, I'm going to go ahead and say she's kissing me. :)
10. She's doing really well grabbing things and her favorite toy right now is this cat that I can hang from her play mat. It's way too huge for her to put in her mouth, but she tries anyway. I guess she's a cat lover like her Mother, Gammy, and Great-Granny.
11. Sooie likes to come in her room while we're playing on the floor and just watch now. Abigail also enjoys watching Sooie, but not for long because Sooie rarely does anything interesting.
12. Abigail is now drinking 5-6 1/2 ounces of breast milk at night. Whoa...like I said, Mommy is working hard. :)
Here are some pictures of my hubby (and puppy) working in the freezing cold.
When things in the house get moved around (as they have this week since we've been working), we tend to find Sooie in odd places..."Curiosity killed the cat." Maybe it should be, "The owner killed her curious cat." :)
Somehow, tomorrow we're expecting another major snow storm. We are super ready for spring, but being from Arkansas where snow is sometime scarce, we just can't help but be a little excited about a storm. We're ready for spring, but we'll take one last blast of winter. :)
