Tomorrow (Friday) is Grandparents Day at school. The grandparents get to come and spend an hour and a half in their grandchild's classroom. We're going to do this little readers theater activity for them, some Shurley Grammar, our Bible verses, and have the grandparents share what they can remember about 2nd grade. Should be a fun time. It's also a half day! That means that we dismiss at 11:30. I'm pumped. We have to send home report cards next week so it gives us some time to catch up and work on them.
David has had/is having 2 two tests this week and a practical. It is going well. We counted up the number of tests that David has before John and Sarah's wedding (which is 3 weeks away), and it's 12! Pretty insane. I think that when he makes it through October he'll be feeling pretty good. He's working hard and doing well.
I have put up some fall decorations in my classroom and the new thing that I am going to try this year is "Thankful Thoughts." The kids will write things that they're thankful for on cute cards and put them up on our "Thankful Thoughts" board. I have scheduled the first mother-daughter cheer meeting for next Wednesday and have been working my tiny hiny off to get everything ready. It has dominated my free time this week but I am excited to get it going! It should be fun and funny working with 8th-10th grade girls!
