Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Today David and I got to go to our very first Nascar race thanks to our neighbor Larry! He got us two free tickets for today's race, so we were really excited to go. It turned out to be super fun and super LOUD! Thank goodness we remembered to bring ear plugs. When we got there we were shocked by the sheer mass of humanity. Everyone had American flags, and numerous other flags flying. When we got to our seats we were sitting by a really nice middle-aged couple that gave us lots of good Nascar facts. Words cannot describe how loud these cars are when they go past you. It's loud even with ear plugs in your ears. We were feeling like we had seen enough by about lap 100 so we beat the crowds out...thank goodness. It was great getting to do another new thing in KC and to take a beautiful afternoon off together.

These were two of our favorite fans obvioulsy. The one in the UPS jacket (which I obviously now would love to have) and the man wearing the rug were equally intense about Nascar...and equally very odd.
