3 Months

Emma Grace is 3 months old today. She has changed a lot this month and we are really enjoying watching her personality emerge. Here are some photos from our little monthly picture session.

Info for month 3:

1. Weight: 13 lb 10 oz
Height: unknown...no doctors appointment this month but I weighed her at the mother's center at Baptist

2. Diapers: size 2

3. Clothing: 3 month, 6 month, 3-6 months, and some 6-9 months

4. Daily Schedule:
6:30-7:00 Wake up nurse and play
8:00-10:00 Nap
10:00-11:30ish Nurse and play time
11:30-1:00 Nap
1:00-2:00 Nurse and play
2:00-3:30 or 4:00 Nap
4:00-5:30 Nurse and play
5:30-6:30 Nap
6:30 Nurse and awake time
*sometimes she snags a catnap in this window of time
9:00 Bedtime bottle and bed!

5. Emma's awake time is becoming more fun and more defined. He main naps are the two hour in the morning and two hour in the afternoon. After I nurse her midmorning is usually when I try to get out of the house, so she normally snags a carseat nap at this point. THANKFULLY, part of Emma's afternoon nap and Abigail's afternoon nap usually match up, so I get a little time to myself.

6. The evening is the hardest time but she is doing great. Her late afternoon nap is short, and I can see her wanting to stay up between that feeding and the last. My goal was to have her asleep by 10:00 at 3 months, but she is now typically asleep by 9:30 since she is eating at 9:00. I am going to now start bumping that last feeding back with the goal of 8:30.

7. Bottle feeding: This was NOT Emma's things as of about a week and half ago, but one morning I decided to make myself super uncomfortable and try to give her a bottle first thing, rather than immediately feed her. She took the bottle and has been willing to take one at night ever since. I am using the "Tommie Tippey" bottle and she seems to like it a lot.

8. At Emma's last feeding of the day she only takes 2-3 ounces of milk, which makes me just a smidge nervous sometimes, but it seems to be all that she needs since she has only eaten 2-2.5 hours before that last feeding.

9. Emma now smiles and laughs and LOVES watching her sister, with the exception of when Abigail is WAY in her face...which is often.

10. She works her hands tons and tons and loves to chew on them. Her slobbering is also picking up! How amazing would it be if Abigail got her teeth super late and Emma was on time?! Here's to hoping...

11. Emma is fairly tough these days. As in, she is willing to take a lot of abuse from Abigail. Don't get me wrong, it's 100% love from Abigail, but honestly she loves her so much sometimes she just wants to squeeze her too hard. It's precious and somewhat hard to monitor! I can't wait to watch their relationship grow.

12. Emma now sleeps unswaddled at night. It's two days new, but she is doing great and I officially put up the swaddle.
