Emma Grace is two months old!
Stats for Miss Emma Grace:
1. Height: 23 1/4 inches-80%
Weight: 12 lb 6 ounces-84%
2. Diapers: I just bumped her up to size 2!
3. Clothing: 3 month, 3-6 months, and 6 months
4. Eating: Emma Grace nurses 6-7 times a day, depending on what time she gets up in the morning. She is not very good at taking a bottle and just prefers to eat from me, but we are about to to work on that really hard and get it figured out. She's got to be willing to take a bottle!
5. Sleeping: After each feed she typically stays awake for about an hour before going back down for nap. The evening times are a little sketchy and she tends to be up more. Right now her last feed is at 10:30 and we shoot to have her asleep by 11:00. Sometimes she is ornery and stays up until 11:30, but she now consistently gets up in the morning between 6:00-7:00...so no complaining from me! This month we plan to bump her bedtime back and get her down by 10:00. Here's to hoping that goes smoothly. She loves to sleep swaddled, so we are doing that at night, and I am working on breaking her of it in the day. Sometimes I'll pull one arm out of her swaddle. I hope to transition to all daytime sleeping being in her sleep sack this month.
6. She has found her hands and voice!
7. She is a very easy-going baby during the day and will typically just go with the flow. She takes A LOT of love from her big sister, but Abigail just adores her, so I kind of let it happen.
8. She doesn't mind taking a bath and has begun to kick her legs to explore the water a little bit.
9. When she smiles she works her tongue in and out of her mouth and it's adorable.
10. Emma Grace is not super great at taking a paci and usually spits it out as she is falling asleep. We are doing the sleep sheep with her as well (like we did with Abigail), and she seems to like it.
Here is an Abigail update as well since she will be 2 1/2 this week...
1. TALKING---repeating everything we say, saying sentences, and generally being hilarious.
2. For a while, everything she said started with "I do..." like "I do walk, "I do milk," "I do play." Now, what seems to play on repeat is "Watch this Momma!"
3. She called Emma Grace, "Edith Grace..." and we can't seem to figure out why.
4. At night she loves to read Bible stories with Daddy. We started with the story of the "big fish" (Jonah), because those were both originally words that she could say. Now it has kind of morphed into tons of stories that all start with "big." So she will request which stories she wants that night. So far we have big fish (Jonah), big boat (Noah), big brothers (Joseph), big man (David and Goliath), big book (10 Commandments), big baby (Jesus), big trip (the exodus from Egypt), and Jesus asleep on the see of Galilee which she requests by making the snoring sound!
5. David will tell parts of each Bible story and then leave parts out and she will fill in the blanks. She loves to swing her arm around and say "whoosh" for David throwing the stone at Goliath.
6. She has taken to singing lately and can sing "Jesus Loves Me," "Jesus loves the little children," "Deep and Wide," "I'm a little teapot," "The B-I-B-L-E" and one other song about monkeys that they sing at Mother's Day Out that we cannot seem to identify. Of course she knows lots of others songs, but these are the ones she can sing herself.
7. She will now also tell us, "love you" and loved to tell me "Happy Mother's Day Momma!" on Sunday.
8. Clothing: 2T
9. Climbing, running, jumping...ALL THE TIME
10. She still takes one nap a day for two hours, but goes to bed later, usually by 9:00.
Life is really really fun right now, and I'm trying to enjoy every second and not get bogged down with daily chores etc. It is becoming more and more clear that these kids just don't stay little long and I've got to store up every single memory that I can.
