Baby #2

Similar to the last time that I wrote a post about a baby, we are equally thrilled to again announce that we are expecting Baby Rainwater #2! I am currently 12.5 weeks along and due March 7, 2015. We knew that we would want to become pregnant again sometime this year, so we prayed to that end and were so excited to take a positive pregnancy test on Thursday, June 26, 2014. The new baby and Abigail will be around 2 years and 4 months apart...which we think is just right. :)

We immediately told our families by putting Abigail in a T-shirt that said, "I'm the big sister." We told Mike and Kathy first, after swimming at their house. When we were done, I took Abigail to change clothes and put the new T-shirt on her. Kathy was the first to notice the shirt, but she didn't read it. She just said, "There's Abigail in her cute shirt!" So David said, "Why don't you take a closer look at that shirt." So then Mike and Kathy read the words at about the same time and were both thrilled. John came over a little bit later and David said, "Check out Abigail's new shirt." John's response was an immediate, "What?!" It was so much fun telling them.

Almost one whole week after finding out we were pregnant we told my parents and Tripp and Kara. We wanted to wait until we wen to the lake for the 4th of July so that we could tell them all together. Again, we had Abigail in her shirt when we arrived at the lake, where Dad and Tripp were finishing up grilling dinner. We all went out back and not one person noticed her shirt. Eventually Kara was holding her, read the shirt, and turned to David and said, "Is this shirt for real?" David laughed and said yes it was. Then Kara said, "Has anybody noticed this yet?" By that time my Mom said, "What are you talking about" and then read the shirt. Mom screamed and Dad just stood there with his mouth open while Tripp hugged me. It was fun all around.

I didn't feel very good during the first trimester of this pregnancy, so I am glad to slowly be filling like I have more energy. I feel like I have shown a lot quicker this time too, but it's all ok because we are so very thankful for another life to add to our family. God is so so good.
