My little girl was 16 months old yesterday. Of course, we've been fighting a cold and I feel like winter will never end! Sometimes it seems like every time Abigail goes to the nursery she catches something! But...recover we will and I am looking forward to some warm days. Here are some recent pictures, including some from all the way back around Valentine's day. Did I every blog what we did for Valentine's day? In case I didn't, my parents babysat for us and we enjoyed a night out to dinner together.
16 Months:
1. Height: 31 inches--55%--big growth spurt here!
Weight: 20 lb 10 ounces--11%--our weight couldn't quite keep up with our height growth this month!
2. Teeth: big announcement here...we now have a total of 4 teeth that have broken the skin. Two top and two bottom.
3. Diapers: size 4
4. Clothing: 12-18 months, 18 months, and squeezing into some winter 12 month items to try and make it to spring!
5. Abigail LOVES Sooie and Deuce. I am not having much success at keeping Abigail from holding on to Sooie's tail, but I'm going to keep working on it. She will also walk up and down the backyard and just laugh and laugh as Deuce runs around.
6. Abigail is now literally running. It's hilarious and I love it. She is also quite the climber and really keeps me on my toes.
7. Daily Schedule: big change here!
7:00-7:30 Wake up
7:30-8:00 Breakfast
11:30-12:00 Lunch
12:45-1:00 Down for nap
3:00 Wake up and eat snack
6:00 Dinner
7:30-8:00 Bed
Did you catch it?! ONE nap a day people. One nap. About a week and a half ago I just knew it was time. She was showing all the signs...a shorter morning nap, plenty of energy throughout the day, and being more difficult to put down in the afternoon after sleeping in the morning. I decided to try it for a week and see how it went. She did great. We didn't really have any breakdowns due to tiredness and she seemed to acclimate. Two times over this week and a half I have offered her a morning nap and she has graciously declined. :) It took about a full week for me to get her adjusted to sleeping longer in the afternoon because her body was naturally waking her up after an hour to an hour and half. But this week she has napped for 2+ hours every day. So here we are, one nappers. Now Mommy just has to adjust. In all seriousness though, I am liking it a lot.
8. Talking: I'm not sure if we've gained a ton of words since my 15 month post, but our vocabulary up to this point includes...
Mamma
Dada
Dog ("Doe)
All done ("al da")
Oh wow
Whoa
Yeah
No
Milk ("Ma")
You may notice that some of these words are only understandable for Mommy and Daddy. :) Although they are usually accompanied by pointing, which is her holding her hand like I gun. I love it. She is also pointing with her pointer and middle finger crossed these days. So cute.
9. I am constantly amazed at how much Abigail understands me. She obeys so many commands that are unexpected to me.
10. Abigail LOVES milk. Sometimes I have to cut her off and switch her to water. :)
