Labor Day and trip to NC

I haven't blogged in a while, so I have some updating to do. Our weekends have been busy with travel recently, which has been really fun. The first weekend in September we headed to the lake again for my extended family reunion. This year only the girl cousins could be there (plus spouses and kids), so that was kind of a fun dynamic. Although the boys WERE missed. We got there on Saturday morning and spent the day on the water. Abigail has become quite the lake girl and has even perfected the afternoon boat nap...it's a beautiful thing. Saturday night we grilled burgers and hung out, followed by another lake day on Sunday. As usual, we all ate together again at Mom and Dad's on Sunday night and uncle Ted brought the meat...which for the record, my Dad grilled perfectly...again. :) Here are the pictures from the weekend. Courtney and Quinton have three girls, Carly, Emily and Lakin. Adele and Lee have Ellen and William, while David and I contributed the final girl in the pictures. :) Cousins missing were Trotter and Jennifer, Clancy, Will, Tripp and Kara, and Ben and Louise and Beck. The girls were obsessed with Abigail and always wanted to know where she was and what she was doing. I bought a blow up pool and filled it with water so she could sit in it on the party barge and not to have to wear her life jacket. It worked out perfectly. It was Abigail's personal lake on the lake. Here are the best pictures from the weekend.

On the way home from the lake we stopped in Arkadelphia and had lunch with Grandma.

Fast forward one week and I was headed to North Carolina with Mom to visit Granny and Grandad. We flew on Monday morning and I was nervous about taking Abigail on the plane. I just didn't want to be that woman with the screaming kid. But Abigail did just great! Mom and I were exhausted after the flight but she never really got too upset. The challenge was keeping a baby who just discovered she can crawl on our laps. After arriving on Monday we got to spend the rest of the day at Granny and Grandad's and getting Abigail acclimated to a new spot. She really did great the whole trip and everyone had a wonderful time. She loved her great Granny and Grandad and would smile every time Grandad came into the room. I loved seeing Abigail with her great grandparents and it's a trip I will always remember as very very special. Granny also took us shopping and bought Abigail lots and lots of clothes! She's one lucky little girl.

I came home on Thursday afternoon and relieved David of his bachelor lifestyle. On the plane flight home Abigail actually took a nap in my lap. Sweetest thing ever. Coming home on Thursday was perfect because our new niece was born on Friday! Sarah went into labor in the early morning hours of Friday, September 13 and Rebecca Caroline Rainwater joined us at around 1:30 Friday afternoon.

7 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long!

Blessing of living near family abound!
