Geoge Washington's Teeth

We have been pretty tired this week after Thanksgiving. In fact, I even managed to get sick again. Yipee. Anyway, the clinic was closed on Friday, so David came up to school to read a book that I had picked out for him. We were planning on him being my "mystery reader" on the last day of the nine weeks, but this worked out better for both of us. He read a book called George Washington's teeth that is a rhyming book about all his teeth falling out.

Then he showed them a set of real dentures and answered teeth questions...

He came bearing gifts and you would have thought it was Christmas day. He brought them each a toothbrush, two tubes of toothpaste, and floss. The girls got a princess toothbrush and the boys got a "Cars" one. They all watched David show them how to floss and then did it on their own.

So cute. It was great to have him there and for the kids to meet him. One boy asked me how old David was. When I told him, he asked if David was tall for his age...I had no idea how to respond. The same boy pointed to a tooth he had coming in and asked David if it was ok that it was so far back. Another girl told David that she has gum disease and that it must have happened because she doesn floss. Such a fun afternoon. The only bad news...more lice at school! I don't think I blogged about it when it happened before Thanksgiving, but it's back. The new safety measure is to have kids bag all their belongings when they come to school...

Tonight we're headed down to the Plaza to do some Christmas shopping and then meet some friends at California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. If we take any pictures I'll post!
