On Friday David had his white coat ceremony, which was a ceremony to show the change from mostly classes and lab work to primarily patient care. He is now going to be seeing patients every day in the clinic. This part of dental school also lasts two years just like the last part. We have been looking forward to this part basically since the beginning. The massive amount of classes is over, as well as the massive amount of tests (minus the studying this summer for his first round of boards in August). The pressure is different now. He is in charge of patients' dental care and is hoping to truly "do no harm."

Outside the school after receiving his white coat. It says, "UMKC School of Dentistry, David Rainwater."
On Friday night we all went and ate dinner at Spin Neopolitan Pizza and then went and played putt putt. We played at the Mission Bowl off Johnson drive and it was the craziest course any of us had ever played. The course itself was incredably nice, but so hard! There were legitimate water hazards and rock traps! Anyone who wants a challenging course, play there. It was hilarious and we had a great time.
On Saturday morning the Rainwaters left and my mom and dad and Tripp stayed to celebrate Tripp's birthday (which is Tuesday). We went and ate lunch at Oklahoma Joe's and then they helped us put of blinds in the living and dining room, which look great. Sorry, no pictures. Then we went and ate dinner at the Power and Light District at The Peachtree restaurant. Afterward we came home and had cake and gave Tripp his birthday presents.
Thank you everyone for coming up. We had a wonderful weekend with everyone and appreciate you so much. We couldn't ask for better families. John and Sarah, you were greatly missed! Here's a video of Ben being "pack leader."
