For our first anniversary together we gave each other a trip to chicago! We drove to Chicago on Thursday, May 28 and got there in time for dinner. We couldn't believe how great our hotel was and decided to go have our first deep dish pizza. It was so good. On Friday we woke up and got day passes for the subway, train, and bus so that we could get around. We found our way to Lincoln Park and enjoyed checking it out and walking around. Then we headed down to Wrigley Field and bought tickets to the Friday afternoon Cub's game. Since we had a while before the game started we walked over to Harry Carry's and had lunch. This was my favorite part of the trip. We sat upstairs by the open window looking at the stadium. The game was wonderful and surprisingly chilly, but the Cub's won and David bought me a T-shirt! After the game we went to the famous shopping street called the Magnificent Mile and found a cool place to eat on Rush street. On Saturday we got up and took a boat tour of the river and lake! It was so great! There were some sailboats going out onto the lake that day, so we also got to see them raise all the bridges in the city to let them out. After the boat tour we ate lunch and then went to the Chicago Zoo. On Saturday night we ate at Carmines (at Dad's suggestion) and David had the largest piece of lasagna ever. HUGE. Saturday night we walked out onto Navy pier and enjoyed the free fireworks show. On Sunday we headed back to Kansas City. Overall, it was a great trip and we were very glad that we decided to do it. It was definitely something we'll remember for a long time.

On Navy Pier before the fireworks!

On the boat tour...out on Lake Michigan.

On the boat again.

Down by the field!

We couldn't believe we were going to get to go to a Cubs game!
