A Fun Saturday

Today David and I got to sleep in and then we decided to drive the forty minutes to Lawrence, KS, to see the KU campus. It was really pretty and felt a lot like the UofA (although not as good of course). We drove around and found a place to take a picture with the stadium in the background. I thought it would be fun to see the Pi Phi house but we couldn't find it, so we asked these guys walking down the road if they knew where it was. We chose them because they looked like Fraternity guys. They knew exactly where it was and pointed us in the right direction. We found it and it was very pretty. When we got back into town I worked on some resume stuff while David fixed the dry wall in the garage. It looks so good and feels like a totally new garage. We also managed to go to the grocery store (the Hen House, or as Dad says, "The Chicken Coop") and buy all of our dinner groceries for the upcoming week. When we got back we made a Kahlua cake and got to use our bundt pan for the first time. I got the recipe from the recipe book I was given at my kitchen shower and the recipe came from Laura Hudson Pace. It has been a great day and we are extremely thankful for this relaxing time before things pick up again.

At KU. We tried to get the stadium, but couldn't quite do it. The campus sits on a hill.

We wish we had before and after pictures, but doesn't it look great!?

David with the fresh Kahlua cake! (Or Kahlula cake as Nick would have it)

Oh my goodness, I can't believe the difference just a little dry wall can make. It looks so much better! I wish you had the before and after pictures! None the less, great job! The cake looks like professionals made it. Laura Hudson would love to know that you made it. Enjoy your week off David and I hope that you have a great week back at work Rachel. Luv to both of you!
